The three new companies joining the Living Lab program are Civic Dollars, Liveable Cities and inCitu.

These additions expand the Living Lab program’s international imprint with Ireland-based Civic Dollars and Canada-based Liveable Cities bringing the total number of foreign companies in the program to four.

These companies join Rep’d, Polco, Cocoflo Innovations and dependbuild, which have been in the Living Lab program since August.

Civic Dollars – Civic Dollars is an innovative platform designed to enhance the health and well-being of both residents and visitors. It incentivizes outdoor activity through the earning and redemption of Civic Dollars, which can be exchanged for rewards like discounts from local stores that partner with Civic Dollars or donations to support local causes.

Liveable Cities – Liveable Cities is a division of LED Roadway Lighting Ltd., a Canadian-owned and operated clean technology company. The company focuses on smart city applications by using advanced sensors and powerful software to produce valuable, actionable insights.

inCitu – inCitu brings future cities to life via augmented reality (AR) to foster collaboration around the process of urban change. They turn design and planning data into location-based, smartphone-based AR experiences, radically lowering the friction to communicate and understand projects.

“This is an exciting time to be in Myrtle Beach,” Howard Waldie IV, Chief Innovation Officer for the City of Myrtle Beach said. “These companies see the value of working here, and the city believes their addition to the Living Lab program is the next step toward making Myrtle Beach a hub for technology and innovation.”
